Responsibility

This positionis responsible forthe instruction and evaluation of students, providing student feedback,maintaininggood order in the classroom by managing student conduct, taking daily attendance, and providing a moral and ethical role model both in and out of the school.

Instructional Practice and Student Development

Planforinstructionofassignedcoursesincontentareabydevelopingannual,unit,anddailylessonplansalignedwiththe Cristo Rey Network’s standards-based curriculum.

Deliver essential content as outlined in the course description and required by theDepartmentHead.

Differentiate instruction based on student learning styles andneeds.

Evaluate studentsfrequentlyusing best practices of authentic assessments, both formative andsummative.

Workwith otherfacultyandadministratorstoanalyzeresultsandrefocusinstruction basedonstudentneeds,interests, and gaps inlearning.

Record daily studentattendance.

Keep gradesup-to-dateinBlackbaud.

Maintain a safe and orderlyenvironment.

Maintain positive rapport withstudents.

Participate in the school’s professional learning community and instructionalcoaching.

Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student work and reflect on teachingpractices.

Providestudentsupportservicestoinclude tutoring,re-teaching,andextensionduring schoolofficehours.

Sethighexpectationsforstudentdevelopmentandensureallstudentsdevelopgrade-levelproficiencytoprepareforsuccess incollege.

Attendtoparentconcernsandcommunicatewithparentswhennecessaryinamannerthatistimely, professional,and compassionate.

Interact professionally with adults and students within the guidelines of the BoundariesPolicy.

Participate in Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Baccalaureate Mass andGraduation, and otherduties asassigned.

Some nights and weekends may berequired.

Be present in a classroom or designated area during the assigned times from 7:15AM–4:15PM.

Leadership and Collaboration

Understandandappreciatethedevelopmentalandeducationalbenefitsoftheschool’sCorporateWorkStudyProgram.

Committogrowingyourownculturalcompetencyanddevelopinganappreciationofthediverseculturalbackgroundand experiences of our families.

Consider serving as a moderator/coach of at least one student club or athleticteam.

Serve on faculty committees, as needed; offer instructional coaching; visitclassrooms.

Actasachaperone/leaderoffieldtrips,immersionexperiences,retreats,serviceopportunities,andotheractivities.

Fill-in as a substitute teacher for absentteachers.

Participateingrade-levelmeetingstocoordinatecurriculumacrossthecontentareaandbetterunderstandstudentneeds.

Communicateregularlywithparents/familiestoshareacademicprogressanddevelopasupportivehome-school partnership.

Understandyourownteachingpracticeasdevelopmental;tapintoavailableresourcesfromcolleaguesandexternalsources to continually reflect on and improve your teaching.

ABachelor’sdegreefromanaccreditedcollegeineducationorintheprimaryteachingareaisrequired.

AMaster’sdegreeispreferred.

TeachingexperienceinaCatholicoranindependentschoolispreferred.

A minimum of three (3)professionalreferences.

A completed backgroundcheck.

Age 25 or older, preferred, for age eligibility to drive mini- buses as needed for extra-curricularactivities.

Knowledge of the Zoom video conferencing platform.
