Saint Cecilia Academy is a private, all-girls Catholic high school owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of the St. Cecilia Congregation in the Diocese of Nashville. Saint Cecilia Academy seeks a Head Girls’ Swim Coach who is passionate about forming young women through sport—developing them physically, mentally, and spiritually. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who aligns with the school’s mission and values and who can lead a disciplined, competitive, and Christ-centered swim program. This coach will be responsible for overseeing the entire 9–12 swim program at Saint Cecilia Academy.

Key Responsibilities

Athletic and Program Development

Build a comprehensive swim program rooted in excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Oversee all levels of the program (grades 9–12), ensuring alignment in coaching philosophy and player development.
Plan and lead effective practices and competitive strategies.
Create a culture of discipline, accountability, and high performance.
Develop swimmers across all skill levels, with an emphasis on teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
Collaborate with the strength and conditioning coach to support physical development and injury prevention.

Faith & Character Formation

Integrate Christian values into coaching philosophy—viewing sport as a platform for virtue formation.
Foster a team environment where prayer, joy, and mutual respect are part of daily life.
Mentor student-athletes in leadership, integrity, and servant-hearted competition.
Collaborate with the school’s chaplain or theology faculty to offer spiritual enrichment opportunities.
Build a culture of sisterhood, where older swimmers mentor younger teammates and contribute to a unified, Christ-centered program.

Program Leadership & School Engagement

Help develop a long-term vision for swimming at Saint Cecilia, including outreach to potential feeder programs.
Coordinate with the athletic department to organize events, retreats, and service initiatives.
Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, families, and the broader school community.
Be a visible and positive presence in the life of the school.

Qualifications

Practicing Christian with a sincere desire to support the Catholic identity and mission of Saint Cecilia Academy.
Previous swim coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach and develop both foundational and advanced skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Deep passion for forming young women in virtue and leadership through athletics.
