culture of respect and inclusion. The Assistant Director, Outreach &
Athlete Ministry will oversee Campus Ministry pastoral outreach and
faith formation programs for student-athletes, working collaboratively
with the Department of Athletics and Student-Athlete Well-Being in
Support Of Their Overall Program. Primary Responsibilities Will Include
serving as a liaison between Campus Ministry and the Department of
Athletics, offering pastoral care to student-athletes, coordinating
regular faith formation programs and opportunities, bridging support
with chaplains, and serving as a resource to existing faith programs in
Athletics. In addition, the Assistant Director will be available to
provide pastoral care and spiritual direction to any Marquette student,
support students\' sacramental needs, and assist with the retreat
program and other office programs and initiatives. This is a 12-month,
full-time position. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of
Campus Ministry. Duties and Responsibilities - Pastoral Outreach and
Faith Formation to Student-Athletes Build relationships with
administrative staff, coaching staff, and student-athletes. Identify and
form student leadership team to guide and assist with facilitating
outreach. Develop formation programs, including retreats, for
student-athletes that reflect their in-season status and schedule.
Attend athletic events, providing innovations as appropriate. Convene
regular meetings with other athletics chaplains. Provide support to
existing athletics faith formation groups and offerings. Serve as a
Campus Ministry liaison with the Department of Athletics. Support and
partner with Director of Mental Health & Performance as appropriate.
Work with supervisor and administrative assistant in developing and
managing the budget for this program area, which includes use of a pcard
and responsibility for reconciling expenditures. - Pastoral Care and
Ministry of Presence to Students Serve as a supplemental retreat
director and provide support for Campus Ministry retreats. Provide
spiritual direction and/or pastoral counseling to students. Support
campus liturgies and sacramental offerings. Assist with, including
attending, Campus Ministry sponsored pilgrimages and service trips.
Provide ministry of presence to Marquette student communities. Serve as
a pastoral presence and Campus Ministry liaison with Reserve Officers\'
Training Corps (ROTC). - As a member of the Campus Ministry team, this
person will: Participate in team meetings, planning, retreats, and
committee work. Prepare an annual report, maintain up-to-date files,
assess programs. Be available for pastoral counseling, spiritual
direction, hospital ministry and crisis situations. This includes
participation in the emergency phone schedule. - Administer and
coordinate the use and upkeep of Campus Ministry vans, including the
certification process for use of \"Alert Driving\" van safety training
for drivers using Campus Ministry van. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Master\'s
Degree in Theology or related field - Current Valid Driver\'s License -
Three years\' experience in campus ministry or related field. -
Familiarity with issues and trends among young adults, particularly
faith concerns. - Experience of planning retreats with young adults. -
An understanding of Ignatian Spirituality. - Familiarity with Catholic
Social Teaching. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. -
Strong ability and desire to work in collaboration with others. - This
role requires some evening/weekends availability, as well as on-call
availability for emergencies. Domestic travel for athletic events is
also required. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - 4-5 years
