Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school outside of Madison, WI, seeks a talented and dynamic Part Time Science teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-27 academic year. The school year starts on September 8th, 2026.
For candidates with prior administrative experience, there is potential for this position to develop into a full-time administrative role, depending on experience, qualifications, and the needs of the school.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
- A commitment to foster the spiritual and intellectual formation of young men and women in a vibrant, faith-filled academic community.
- Bachelor's degree in Science-related fields.
-Ability to teach 14 (40 minute) classes a week:
Science: Introductory Astronomy/Physics (4x/week), Biology (5x/week), Chemistry (5x/week)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree and/or professional experience in science-related fields.
- Prior teaching experience (especially in a Classical school environment).
Responsibilities
In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in
holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, and assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
