Overview
Join our dynamic cafeteria team as a cook, where your passion for food and service will make a meaningful difference in our school community. In this vital role, you will support the school cafeteria by assisting with meal preparation, cooking, food handling, serving and managing school cafeteria. Work is Monday-Friday, and must be available from 8 am -2 pm.
Duties
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation to ensure timely service
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and safety standards
- Handle food safely by following proper hygiene, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Serve meals to students, teachers and staff with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Support catering events and special occasions by helping with setup, serving, and cleanup
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient food service operations
Skills
- Prior experience in restaurant cook is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience in food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments, including food service procedures
- Excellent knife skills and meal preparation abilities for diverse dietary needs
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members
