The Opportunity
SPO is seeking a Donor Engagement Officer (DEO) to serve as a "Missionary Fundraiser," building and strengthening relationships with current and prospective major donors. In this role, you will initiate and steward meaningful, long-term relationships that invite donors into a deeper life of faith by sharing the hope of the Gospel and the fruitfulness of SPO's mission. You will work with the National Advancement Team to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, inviting them to prayerfully consider transformational gifts.
Job Title: Donor Engagement Officer
Location: On-Site, Mendota Heights, MN
Salary: $90,000- $105,000 annually ($75,000-$85,000 base pay, with $15,000-$20,000 of potential performance bonuses)
Responsibilities
- Major Donors: Identify, cultivate, and invite prospective donors to partner with SPO at the $5,000 giving level or higher.
- Planned Giving: Identify and cultivate prospects with the capacity for legacy and planned gifts.
- Personal Fundraising: Introduce potential donors to SPO and invite them into a financial partnership to support your salary and the mission of SPO.
- Team Participation: Participate as an active member of the National Advancement Team, attending weekly virtual staff meetings and engaging in ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational, planning, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellence in storytelling to connect donor passions with SPO's mission
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Committed to the work of evangelization, discipleship, and living in accordance with the mission and teaching of the Catholic Church
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fundraising, Donor Engagement, or a related nonprofit field
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience with a track record of closing five and six-figure gifts
- Experience with CRMs such as Raiser's Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT
- SPO or similar mission experience

- Competitive Salary: The starting salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience
