The Upper School Spanish Teacher Is Responsible For
- teaching Spanish in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education.
- working closely with colleagues in the World Languages Department and throughout the Upper School to implement the curriculum using best practices in teaching, including the immersion method, student-centered instruction, and relevant educational technologies.
- attends all faculty and employee meetings and maintains good communication with families about student progress.
- participates in the Social Action Program, supports the Student Activities Program as a chaperone and/or moderator, and serves as a Student Advisor.
- collaborating with Learning Specialists, Educational Technologists and Librarians.
Compensation includes competitive benefits and salary commensurate with experience. Stone Ridge uses a salary scale to determine pay and the range spans from $60,000 to $95,000+ based on years of experience and education level attained.

The Desired Candidate
- has experience in independent and/or Catholic school and possesses an advanced degree.
- has experience teaching Spanish and demonstrates expertise in pedagogy and instruction as well as fluency, flexibility, and strong organization skills.
- is familiar with and/or has experience teaching in the model of Understanding by Design (UBD) and with the ACTFL standards and with Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- is committed to the craft of teaching and has a genuine enthusiasm for young people.
- demonstrates a collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and creativity.
