Description
Program Management:
-Work with the Athletic Director to establish high level goals and strategic plan for the program.
-Provide age / skill appropriate instruction.
-Work with the Athletic Director to create competition and practice schedules.
-Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities
-Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all school and MSHSAA policies
-Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
-Protect the reputation of the School and Athletic Department by ensuring proper sportsmanship is demonstrated by players and assistant coaches at all times.
-Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions and practices
-Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practices, and while on trips off school property in accordance with school and MSHSAA policies
-Help develop each student-athlete in spirit, heart, mind, and body.
General:
-Establish and maintain open communication with athletic department, parents, students, and necessary school administration.
-Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, and actions.
-Assist in maintaining discipline by enforcing the expectations in the Student Handbook
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
-Previous coaching experience (preferred)
-General knowledge of coaching and expertise in specific sport / Activity.
-Ability to instruct and supervise students and student athletes
-Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
