IT Support Specialist

The Diocese of Greensburg seeks qualified applicants for an IT Support Specialist. As a member of a support team, the individual will provide technical and consultative services to over 3,500 end users and supports a fleet of over 5,000 networked devices. The position is primarily responsible for offering training, advice, technical solutions and guidance on mobile and desktop systems in a hybrid cloud environment.
The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of help desk support, computer set-up, desktop software installation/upgrades and maintenance, imaging, troubleshooting, printer (local and network) installation.
The incumbent will also assist network engineers, network analysts and IT security professionals in project implementations.
The technology support specialist will work in collaboration with all offices of the diocese and will be responsible for keeping abreast of emerging technologies as they relate to new ed tech. mobile and cloud computing.
The position will specify, order, receive and tag computer assets. The position will be called upon to set up, test, and operate microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, cameras, lighting, and recording devices as well as diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment quickly, especially during live events.
Qualified Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
- A minimum of two years support and configuration experience in a networked technical support role.
- Experience with a multitude of peripherals including interactive LCD/LED boards, projectors, and smart displays.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 & 11, M365, iPad OS, Apple OS 10.15 and newer.
- Experience with remote support tools and service desk software.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work under extreme demand while maintaining superb customer service skills.
- Be self-motivated and a team player.
- Possess excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Be able to interview end-users to determine appropriate system requirements, and explain technical systems in an organized, understandable and meaningful way to end-users at all levels.
Experience working in a K-12 educational environment and consistently demonstrating positive business acumen is a plus.
