St. Andrew by the Bay, located in Annapolis, MD, seeks candidates for a Preschool Teacher. The Extended Care Teacher will be accountable for the care and supervision of children. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide some instruction or educational support. The weekly hours are 19. The Preschool Teacher will be working with 2 - 4 year olds, September through May.
Essential Functions
- Works with the lead teacher to implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Takes initiative in the classroom, and assists in preparing the learning environment daily, including centers and activities.
- Maintains a clean and organized classroom daily.
- Assists in classroom management and orderly transitions.
- Uses positive words and actions in all communication and interaction with the students.
- Assist in daily activities with children.
- Prepare crafts and activities under the teacher's direction.
- Prepare a learning environment daily including centers and activities.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
- Assist with snack, lunch, and rest time.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma and 90-hour childcare certification.
- Experience in a Catholic School setting preferred.
- An appreciation for young students and their families.
- Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
Pay Rate: $18.00, Hourly
