Our Lady of Hope Catholic School is a K-8 elementary school located on a beautiful campus in Potomac Falls, Virginia. We strive to educate our students to be "messengers of hope for the world" with an emphasis on faith formation, service and high academic standards. We are a blue ribbon and purple star school with dedicated teachers and staff. Our small school community feels like a family. Our Lady of Hope Catholic School is hiring a Spanish Teacher for grades 1-8, for the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive Spanish language curricula that align with educational standards
- Teach both oral and written Spanish to students in Grades 1-8
- Deliver engaging lessons that utilize active instructional strategies
- Assess student progress through classroom assessments and formative evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Prepare students for oral and written exams; specific preparation for 8th grade students for an end of year world language exam
- Manage classroom environments effectively by applying classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and activities tailored to diverse learning styles
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports while ensuring compliance with school policies
Qualifications
- Virginia state licensure or the ability to obtain VCEA certification
- Bachelor’s degree (Spanish Language and teaching or related area preferred)
- Strong collaboration skills
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with learning technology tools such as digital platforms for language learning
- Demonstrated classroom management skills along with experience in behavior management techniques
- Strong organizational skills
- Passion for fostering literacy education and cultural awareness through innovative teaching practices
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $43,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
