Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a related field with equivalent experience, 2+ years’ experience teaching in a high school setting, Illinois PEL (or other state certification) a plus.

School Description:
Christ the King Jesuit College Prep serves students in grades 9-12 through an innovative corporate internship program which allows students from families of limited financial means to earn up to the majority of their tuition costs through jobs in professional settings. Christ the King prepares every student for college through our rigorous college preparatory curriculum and Corporate Work Study Program. We are proud that each year, every Christ the King graduate is accepted to college. The Class of 2026 marks our fifteenth consecutive class of 100% acceptance!

Key Responsibilities:
Course Instructor
- Teach 5 course sections (4 semester-long College Prep sections, 4 semester-long Consumer Economics sections, 1 year-long Elective). All faculty also teach one Advisory Section
- Use Cristo Rey Network curriculum to establish and implement an effective plan for instruction and assessment that will prepare students for college and career success
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills in an environment of respect and rapport
- Actively collaborate with colleagues to support and strengthen the instructional program of Christ the King Jesuit College Prep
- Actively implement the Code of Conduct and disciplinary procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook
- Demonstrate strong organizational and record-keeping skills, including submission of curricular maps and gradebook updates
- Know, teach, and follow school-wide routines and procedures
Collaboration with College & Career Initiatives
- Actively collaborate with the College & Career Initiatives Team(s) to ensure that course content and curriculum aligns with best practices for supporting CTK students in the college process
- Attend College & Career Initiative planning meetings to coordinate shared components of the curriculum
- Serve as a champion of the college process at CTK, believing in the schoolwide philosophy that every student deserves the opportunity to attend college if they choose
- Maintain an open classroom which welcomes co-teaching, pull-outs, and push-ins from the College Initiatives team(s)
- Remain open to the idea of lifelong learning – knowing that the best way to support first generation students from families with limited economic means through the college process involves a strategic, inclusive, data-driven approach based on a set of best practices
Additional Responsibilities
- Tutor after school at assigned times one day per week
- Supervise students during religious celebrations, school gatherings, etc., as assigned by administration
- Teach and act consistently in accordance with the stated mission, objectives, and policies of the school as articulated in the Employee Handbook
- Model the “Graduate at Graduation” statement as consistent with Jesuit, Catholic education, and strive to support students in valuing and attaining those qualities
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, substitute duties, admissions interviews, intervention planning and implementation, and professional development including, but not limited to, Cristo Rey Network Summer Institutes, as planned
- Participate in Faith Formation including, but not limited to, Faculty-Staff Retreats, Ignatian Themes Workshops, and Mission Meetings
- Respect and help form the spiritual values of students and support the Jesuit, Catholic identity of the school by exemplifying—in the Teacher’s own actions—the characteristics of Christian living, including being a leader of prayer and supporting the liturgical and spiritual life of the school
