Denver Shelter Director of Operations

Purpose Of Position
A Denver Shelters Director of Operations at Catholic Charities:
- Promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
- Models Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with respect and dignity.
- Integrates the leadership model in daily activities including spot coaching, supervision, and training.
- Works in conjunction with the other directors to maintain standardization and alignment between sites and departments.
- Audits procedural manuals quarterly and leads initiatives to update manuals and implementation.
- In collaboration with other management, ensures all Denver Shelters operations staff are trained and adhere to operational safety policies and procedures.
- Applies appropriate trauma-informed techniques and standards in program development and service delivery.
- Works with the local system of care toward the design, implementation and evaluation of a model of care that is collaborative and strengths-based.
- Ensures that programs and services are in compliance with licensing, accreditation, state and federal standards and other appropriate regulatory or professional requirements.
- Compiles accurate and timely program statistical data to meet reporting requirements, goals, and outcomes.
- Creates, monitors performance measurements, and recommends program improvements.
- Maintains professional ties with other service organizations/boards/committees for the benefit of the program.
- Oversees payroll records for the program and all supervised positions, including overtime auditing as necessary.
- Completes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately.
- Implements system for donation solicitation and storage, especially for high cost and high use items.
- On-call for consultation and intervention after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Agency’s values and policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities including overseeing interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Assists with contracts and grants in collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations and Grants Director.
- Prepares and administers area budget within established guidelines.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
- Maintains confidentiality of participants and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated effective management, supervisory and administrative skills.
- Ability to understand and convey to others the values and social teachings of the Catholic Church as they relate to the mission and work of Catholic Charities, practicing Catholic preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within the framework of Catholic teaching
- Skills in community work, problem-solving, goal-setting, evaluation and team-building.
- Intermediate skill on Microsoft Office and database management
- Ability to compile and interpret statistical information.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values
- Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university in related field; and three to five years related operations experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: 80,000-90,000 per year. Full Time.
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. - 403b Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of annual compensation.
