Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School (OLLIS) in Columbia is seeking a dedicated, full-time 2nd grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. OLLIS is a thriving K–8 Catholic school serving approximately 635 students and is committed to academic excellence and the faith formation of each child in a Christ-centered community.
We are seeking a practicing Catholic educator who is passionate about elementary education and eager to partner with families and parish communities in preparing children for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The ideal candidate builds strong relationships with students, fosters joyful and structured learning, and supports students’ academic, spiritual, and social growth.
Position Focus
The 2nd grade teacher is responsible for teaching all core subjects and nurturing a classroom culture grounded in faith, respect, and high expectations. In addition, this position holds a unique role in the spiritual life of our school by supporting sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Responsibilities include:
Providing engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction across all subject areas
Teaching religion and guiding students in prayer and Catholic practices
Coordinating and supporting sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in collaboration with parish clergy, parish faith formation leaders, and school administration
Communicating clearly and consistently with families regarding sacramental expectations, timelines, and student readiness
Supporting schoolwide faith experiences, including Masses, prayer services, and service opportunities
