Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support the educational development of PRESCHOOL students in a dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and students, providing assistance in various educational settings, including general classroom support. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive atmosphere that promotes learning and growth for all students. ALL Employees of St. Mary's Catholic School must be supportive of the Catholic mission, values, and philosophy of the school.
Note: This position will be available to continue via the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Facilitate education objectives through one-on-one or small group instruction.
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning environment.
- Provide care and supervision during activities, including recess time, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Collaborate with educators to enhance student engagement.
- Maintain clear communication with the classroom teacher regarding student progress and challenges.
Skills
- Background working with youth in a school setting. Preschool/PreK experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- Familiarity with working with children of various ages, including preschoolers.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to support diverse learners.
- Background working in a Catholic school, supportive of Catholic values, is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
