Job Summary
Mission Implementation
- Actively live and uphold the mission of Immaculate Conception Catholic School as a member of “a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus”
- Model the mission of the Catholic Church in daily life, following the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that nurtures each student’s academic, spiritual, social-emotional, and developmental growth, tailored to their age, grade level, and individual abilities
The Middle School Resource Teacher:
- Provides targeted support through individualized and small-group instruction for students experiencing academic challenges in the general education setting
- Oversees two sections of Supported Study Hall designed for students with identified disabilities who require ongoing executive-functioning support
- Consistently monitors, documents, and communicates student progress in all service areas and interventions
- Collaborates closely with general education teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs can access the curriculum and succeed within the general education classroom
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Role
- Use specialized instructional techniques to assist students with learning needs in the general education classroom
- Provide high-quality instruction through small-group or one-on-one support to students with identified learning needs
- Analyze relevant data to evaluate student progress and the effectiveness of instruction
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to each student’s unique learning style, strengths, and areas of need
Case Manager Role
- Create individualized goals for students based on present levels of performance
- Monitor progress toward goals using various methods of data collection
- Update progress monitoring documents and share quarterly reports with parents/guardians
- Revise student support plans at the end of each academic year to reflect student growth and evolving needs
Student Support Role
- Support general education teachers in accommodating diverse learning needs by offering differentiated strategies, instructional adjustments, and guidance on implementing accommodations in individual student support plans
- Ensure that all services and accommodations listed in student support plans are implemented with fidelity
- Serve as a liaison between families and teachers when concerns arise regarding the implementation of student support plans
- Provide direct student support services (ex: check-in/check-out, emotional-regulation breaks, etc.) as needed
Department Member Role
- Actively participate in weekly CARE Team meetings
- Attend scheduled department meetings
- Administer schoolwide assessments, including standardized testing (Aimsweb, NWEA) and DIAL screenings

- Adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected situations
- Maintain confidentiality in all student-related matters

- Use sound judgment to implement policies and procedures relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities in a variety of situations
