Job Summary
he Associate Principal of the Lower School will serve as a member of the Administrative Team of
Immaculate Conception of Dardenne Catholic School under the direct supervision of the
Principal. The Associate Principal of the Lower School provides mission-driven leadership in
collaboration with the Principal and Associate Principal of the Upper School.
- This is a 12-month position
- The position is exempt
- The candidate must be Faith-filled practicing Catholic
- Minimum of 5 years teaching
- School leadership experience required
- Preferred - Administration/Supervision experience, Administration certification

Job Responsibilities
Mission Implementation
- Actively engage in living the mission of Immaculate Conception Catholic School, as a member of “a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.”
- Live the mission of the Catholic church in daily life, as defined by the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Attend monthly School Board meetings on a bi-monthly basis
Spirituality of School
- Attend morning prayer along with the administration, teachers, and staff
- Attend Mass regularly
Teacher Formation
- Evaluate teachers according to the Archdiocesan Faculty Formation Program
- Evaluate preschool teachers annually
Kindergarten through Fourth Grade
- Communicate the mission through effective and clear behavioral expectations and respond to discipline needs
- Work with and assist faculty in the development of effective classroom and hallway management
- Assist with frequent communication to parents, teachers, and students on matters pertaining to discipline
- Maintain a visible presence in the school to uphold proper discipline and conduct
- Prepare and log required documentation in regards to discipline
- Monitor student absences and tardies and notify parents of excessive student absences and tardies following the guidelines within the handbook
- Collaborate with the admin team on the creation of class lists
- Assist Preschool Director with any/all of the above
Curriculum and Instruction
- Coordinate the kindergarten screening process
- Attend weekly CARE Team meetings for students K-4
- Collaborate with the Resource Coordinator on implementation of K-4 student plans
- Collaborate with Preschool Director and assist with any/all of the above
Personnel
- Hire, manage and support the classroom instructional aides
- Cultivate a master list of substitutes for all grades and positions
- Schedule and supervise classroom substitutes for teacher and aide absences
- Submit bi-monthly payroll reports for substitutes to the parish bookkeeper
- Maintain annual attendance records for faculty
- Assist in the hiring of teachers
Preschool
- Be a support and assist the lead of the preschool program through direct and indirect
supervision in the areas of personnel, budget, instruction, and enrollment
General Administrative Responsibilities
- Attend Admin Team meetings
- Attend faculty meetings and all other types of teacher/staff meetings as scheduled – help with agenda, set up, presentation of information, and all other details
- Coordinate with the Principal planning and executing staff professional development
- Share responsibility with the Principal for attending meetings and events that arise during the year.
- Maintain inventory and order annual curriculum materials.
