Holy Spirit Parish Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Pastor and Head of Maintenance
Full Time, Monday through Friday
FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Summary: This position provides cleaning and light maintenance for the parish and school grounds.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Responsible for but not limited to mowing, edging, weed eater, mulching, leaf removal, brush removal, cutting of small tress, planting and weeding flower beds, debris removal.
- Performs minor maintenance at all parish properties, including but not limited to painting, changing light bulbs and ac filters, minor carpentry and trash removal.
- Provides general assistance as needed through setting up and taking down tables, chairs and dance floor for events.
- Responsible for the removal of trash after events as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by Pastor, Parish Administrator, Head of Maintenance
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
- Successful work experience in maintaining grounds, parking lots and roads.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, lift, reach and stay on feet for the duration of shift.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years.
COMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leadership, vendors, employees, and the general public. Must have average computer skills, including aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
