Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Business and World History, beginning February 2026 through May 2026. Includes Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm.
The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students during the regular teacher’s absence. Responsibilities include following the established curriculum provided by the principal or the absent teacher, delivering lessons, assigning and grading coursework as appropriate, and overseeing student attendance and classroom management.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management skills, effective communication, and the ability to maintain continuity of instruction.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the active supervision of students at all times.
- Oversee the instruction of students following the plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Follow daily routine of teacher and fill in for duties outside the classroom such as morning drop-off or pick-up as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration.
- Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Studies, Business, or World History
- Current MSDE certification preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and supervision.
- Experience in teaching or working with secondary students
- Proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms
- A desire to embrace the values of the Archbishop Spalding community both in and outside the classroom

Pay Range: $150.00/Day
