Mount St. Joseph Academy, a co-educational Diocesan Roman Catholic high school in Rutland, VT has an immediate opening for a dynamic and dedicated partr time Long-Term Substitute Teacher in Chemistry and the Physical Sciences. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and the holistic development of students.Courses to be Taught: Chemistry (Grade 11)Earth Science (Grade 9)Environmental Science (Grade 12)Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with school curriculum.Develop and implement lesson plans, laboratory experiences, and assessments.Foster a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment.Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success.Uphold and support the mission and values of Catholic education.Qualifications: Vermont State teaching licensure preferred.Retired teacher licensure preferred.Relevant teaching experience or strong content-area qualifications in chemistry, earth science, and/or environmental science.Ability to design and implement engaging laboratory and inquiry-based instruction.Effective classroom management and communication skills.Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.Licensure is preferred but not required for candidates with relevant experience or strong content-area qualifications.
